Footnotes
ECLIPTICAL LADYBUG had a nice set-up drafting behind the pacesetter early on, was posed inside another watching the contesting twosome along the backside, shifted out three wide coming with a quick turn of foot, was in full flight outside three wide in upper stretch, charged past taking control at the furlong pole and drew off smartly dominating rivals in the late running. BLACK GODDESS was allowed to settle at the rear in the early stages, continued to lag well behind saving ground on the last turn, shifted out three wide catching up to the pack between foes turning for home, could not threaten the dominant winner in the final furlong but did have good late energy, surging at the wire winning the runners up share in a four way blanket finish. SULTRY SOPHIE prompted the issue going three wide on the initial bend, shadowed the pacesetter outside down the backstretch, dueled outside on the last turn taking the lead by the quarter pole, still maintained a narrow advantage two wide between foes in upper stretch, gave way to the overpowering winner with a furlong still remaining and faded ever so slightly late being nabbed outside for the second place share at the finish line. CONQUER THE STORM had a stalking role near the rear on the inside, travelled four deep improving smartly outside rivals at the half, continued to edge up making an outside rally five wide through the final turn, swung out widest in the six path straightening out for the drive, battled outside in the mix for a piece of the prize but had to settle for a minor placing in the end being outkicked late. NASHYAN had the rail sitting in mid-division in the beginning, stalked inside another rival along the backstretch, made an early move in the three path between horses taking closer order by the half, travelled three to four wide regressing mildly between foes at the five sixteenths pole, shifted to the four path in upper stretch and ran on mildly down the lane fighting between runners for a minor share in the final furlong. SONGS OF WAR broke outwards at the start, seized control just off the fence around the first of two turns, maintained a slim advantage inside down the back straight, dueled inside through the far turn but surrendered the front by the quarter pole, tried to fight back still in the mix on the fence with an eighth still to run, had little left late and folded inside horses at the sixteenth pole. HEY NIAMH was bumped on the inside at the start, settled on midfield going three wide on the first turn, tracked the engaged pair while outside the eventual winner along the backside, could not hold position three wide between foes at the quarter pole and yielded just off the rail inside runners at the furlong marker.
