Footnotes
SHINIGAMI travelled comfortably hounding the pace outside down the back straight, moved in gliding outside under a confident ride around the turn to take command at the quarter pole, edged away for a clear advantage by the furlong marker and was getting weary late but held safe at the finish line. SOUPER VINNIE was brushed inside on the start, had little early foot trailing the group along the backside, caught up to rivals three wide on the outside midway on the bend, angled to the five path for the drive, found his best stride late and charged home smartly in the final furlong to be second best on this day. SWITCHIN' TO GLIDE was situated three deep having horses on either side watching the front two early on, settled in midfield unable to keep up to the lead trio around the oval, moved out four wide at the top of the lane and kept grinding away to capture the show money while not so far off for the runners up share as well at the wire. KNOWING was off a step slow in the beginning, moved up between horses to be in the two path keeping tabs on the engaged pair down the backside, edged up to the dueling twosome midpoint of the turn, posed a threat outside three wide straightening for home but evened out shifting inside in the final sixteenth of a mile to settle on the fringes in the end. DRAKE DRIVE broke sharp having a slim lead on the inside early on, maintained a head in front on the rail under brisk fractions through the turn, was unable to keep up to the winner under a busy ride by the quarter pole and wilted on the fence in deep stretch. ROYAL ENTRY was five deep, part of the quintet tracking the lead pair down the back straight, could not keep up to runners mounting a rally at the three eighths pole, regressed around the turn and could not factor just off the fence in the stretch drive. EMPOWER was antsy in the stall prior to the break, broke outwards on the start, tracked the front duo while in the four path between horses down the backstretch, retreated inside rivals on the turn to see the field with five sixteenths to go, shifted to the four path turning for home but had nothing to offer in the late running. MORE THAN SCAT was under a snug hold keeping a close eye on the lead couple down the backside, took an awkward step coming to the half mile marker, was quickly eased and left via equine ambulance. STEWARDS INQUIRY REGARDING THE RUN ALONG THE BACKSTRETCH IN THE VICINITY OF THE HALF MILE POLE RESULTED IN NO CHANGE
