Footnotes
MILITARY FORCE was stalking on the inside of runners close to the back in the beginning, while still in hand methodically crept closer on the fence throughout the turn, hugged the rail darting inside runners at the top of the lane, moved out off the leader two wide by the furlong pole charging home and drove past powerfully on the outside at the sixteenth pole for the late running score. MIDNIGHT ARKLE travelled three deep watching the contesting foursome down the backside, offered a good sustained three wide outside rally around foes on the turn, shifted to the five path still coming on down the stretch, could not threaten the winner late but ran on gamely to best the rest for the secondary share just getting up before the wire. COMPUTER HACKER was hustled leaving the chute pressing the pace inside down the backstretch, took the lead on the rail being nudged for more at the seven sixteenths pole, saved ground narrowly up front through the turn, edged clear just off the fence turning for home, could not fend off the late burst by the winner outside at the sixteenth pole and was nabbed late to settle for the third place share at the finish. ORPHAN HALLIE was allowed to settle into stride at the back of the pack, shared the rear inside another three furlongs out, swung out widest in the seven path in upper stretch and had a full head of steam outside runners in the final furlong to get up right at the wire setting on the fringes in the end. COHERENCE had the rail position watching the front four fight it out at the half, kept pace between rivals two wide around the oval to be in with a chance for a piece of the prize straightening for home but could only finish up mildly in the late running inside rivals getting caught losing the minor placing at the finish line. SOUPER ICONIC settled in the second flight with runners on both sides along the backstretch, was checked mildly three wide between runners midway around the turn, angled to the four path at the head of the lane but lacked a rally down the stretch. CUT'EM LOOSE was part of the scrum for the front end travelling outside, four deep along the back straight, continued to fight on three wide inching up outside on the turn in the conversation for the lead, shifted to the four path still in the thick of things in upper stretch but had little finishing kick and yielded at the furlong pole. MID DAY IMAGE had a slim advantage getting his head in front between foes in the two path with four abreast along the backside, relinquished the lead and had a chasing role two wide between horses around the turn, shifted three wide at the top of the stretch, had little left for the late running and wilted inside foes at the furlong marker. WHISKEY ROW was checked between runners entering the backstretch to stalk near the rear early on, co-trailed on the outside at the three furlong pole, shifted out four wide with a quarter still to run and while in the six path for the stretch drive could only pick up a single straggler down the lane. LEFT IN MY DUST dueled in the three path between rivals part of the quartet up front along the backside, was the first of the foursome giving way three wide at the three furlong pole, retreated through runners around the turn and emptied out five wide at the top of the lane.
