Footnotes
MATOAKA was bumped by the outside rivals then was jostled between runners on the start, settled near the rear on the inside in the early stages, started to reach for more ground coming on splitting foes when heading into the turn, continued to rally two wide between rivals at the quarter pole, loomed boldly coming to the pacesetter four wide turning for home, powered past getting to the front end outside by the sixteenth pole and was kept busy late holding safely at the finish line for the win. GLINT OVER ESSA was away slowly seeing the field initially, improved on the inside down the backstretch to sit in midfield by the half, had to be throttled down briefly behind rivals from the three eighths pole to the five sixteenths marker, shifted out starting to come with a rally three wide at the quarter marker, swung out widest to the six path for the stretch run and charged home smartly outside while not switching leads to be second best showing a very solid debut. RAINBOW TRAIL pressed the pace inside in the beginning, took back off the contesting duo on the fence by the nine sixteenths pole, had a good set up sitting isolated watching the embattled pair through the turn, shifted out two wide at the quarter pole, moved further out to the three path in the mix with a furlong to go and with one late push got up in the final few jumps for the third place share. FEELING SUPERSONIC was away alertly prompting the pace three deep, continued to move forward getting a head in front outside a rival by midturn, opened up putting away the early sped foe by the quarter pole, had the three path up top but rivals were beginning to bear down on either side in upper stretch, surrendered the lead to the winner outside by the sixteenth pole and faded inside rivals in deep stretch just getting nabbed by an outside runner just before the wire losing the show award. NEXT OF KIN broke inwards on the start, settled on the outside of another in mid-division, was coaxed for more three wide on the turn making a mild run outside closing the gap at the quarter pole, shifted to the five path for the drive to the wire but flattened out by the furlong pole. FLATTER SUCCESS ran in tandem with the eventual winner inside having only one runner beaten down the backside, made no headway while just off the fence around the oval and could not get involved in the two path down the lane. GHOST FURY broke with the field but quickly dropped back uninterested lagging far behind in the early going, still remained a long last in the turn running but did show some grit coming for from behind to catch a weary straggler in the last eighth of a mile. C C KITKAT was in tight between horses soon after leaving the gate, recouped while be nudged along vying between foes up top early in the backstretch, dueled on the rail throughout the turn, could not keep up staring to back away while under a drive by the quarter pole and stopped on the fence by mid-stretch.
