MARSHAL quickly took the lead, edged clear and shifted in head up the backstretch, dictated terms near the rail, found more in the stretch and held sway. LASKAY exchanged a bump at the start, stalked from outside the second flight, travelled three to four wide through the turn, loomed a threat coming to the top of the stretch but could make no headway while holding the place. SPEEDY BEAR tracked from inside, kept on evenly. COST OF WAR settled inside off the pace, raced at the back on the turn saving ground before swinging out seven to eight wide turning for home, kept on and improved position. CAIRO CAPER switched out early, advanced outside heading into the turn, raced four to five wide on that bend, lacked the needed late kick. PAYNES SPIRIT bumped with a foe at the start, stalked the winner from off the rail in the two to three path, weakened. MAGIC POWER switched out off the inside and pulled keenly between runners having to steady slightly on heels up the backstretch, moved out a bit for the drive, failed to rally. FORTY N FIVE was off the inside at the rear racing two to three wide into the turn, was ridden along three furlongs out, had no response.
