SOBIECH was in control dictating a slow pace down the backside up top, continued to show the way inside through the turn with only mild pressure from an outside foe, had challengers bearing down on either side straightening out for home, dueled determinedly through the lane, surrendered the lead for a stride to two at the seventy yard pole but tenaciously fought back to get the nod for the win at the finish line. HURRICANE AMELIA was all alone watching the lead couple down the back straight, crept up the fence closing the gap around the oval, hugged the rail to make her presence felt up front in upper stretch, battled stubbornly inside actually poking her head in front briefly with seventy yards from home but could not get the bob at the wire in a thrilling finish down the stretch. WHISKEY OVER WINE was off a step slow on the start, veered out leaving the chute sitting in midfield by the half, was roused at the three furlong pole, started to make an outside run around the bend to be in the mix four wide at the top of the lane, could not get to the lead pair who had it to themselves in the final furlong but did finish up smartly to get up late for the show money. C C ATHENA sat just off the pacesetter on the outside down the backstretch, edged up outside around the turn, bid three wide outside rivals in upper stretch, could not quicken with the lead dup by the furlong pole and evened out late to settle on the fringes in the end. BLACK HAWK EAGLE stalked near the rear in the beginning, was forced out be a n inside foe heading into the backstretch, shared the back outside through the turn making little impression, swung out widest in the five path at the top of the lane bit could not get involved in the late running. WUNHAPPY WABBIT was away slowly seeing the field on the start, co-trailed on the inside making little headway on the turn, shifted out to the four path turning for home but failed to fire inside horses in the final furlong.
