Footnotes
JOURNEYMAN travelled three wide on the first turn keeping tabs on the front three runners, closed in down the backstretch at the half while three deep, rallied three wide around rivals on the far turn, loomed boldly on the outside four wide at the top of the lane and drew off in the final seventy yards for the victory. EL KABONG settled on the fence in midfield, advanced on the rail through the first turn to track the lead pair along the backside, waited to make a move behind the embattled trio at the quarter pole, lacked running room two wide at the top of the stretch, darted to the fence having clear run in the final furlong, could not quicken with the winner late but closed in smartly inside runners to just get up for the place inside share in a photo. OCEAN ATLANTIQUE was squeezed on the break to be near the rear in the beginning, was relegated to last down the back straight, began to mount a rally three wide picking up runners midway on the final turn, shifted out four wide turning for home and with a strong late charge outside in the final furlong was closing the fastest in deep stretch just missing at the wire outside for the runners up share. MALIBU MAMBO veered in on the start, was content to sit behind the pacesetter on the first turn, continued to watch the leader just a couple lengths behind down the backside, moved in with the eventual winner on the outside to vie between rivals for the lead at the quarter pole, shifted three wide in the scramble for the lead in upper stretch between rivals, tried to the very end but was just outsfinished in a thrilling stretch battle to settle on the fringes in the end. ITSASTORMYMONDAY broke out on the start, had the lead but was high headed going under the wire for the first time, was loose up front setting an even tempo along the backside, continued to roll along inside foes keeping the advantage on the final bend, still was clinging on up top on the fence by the furlong pole but faded in the final seventy yards between runners to be on the losing end of a tight four way finish for the place share at the wire. BREAKING ALONE settled in all alone in midfield in the early stages, was roused three wide with runners on each side at the three eighths pole holding his own throughout the final turn, shifted out to the four path straightening for home but lacked a rally between foes in the final furlong. CHAIRMAN BOB stalked three wide in the beginning, moved closer between foes down the backside, was urged between runners at the three furlong marker keeping pace with others running around the far turn, angled three wide for the drive to the finish line but could not get involved inside rivals in deep stretch. ELUSIVE KNIGHT stalked on the rail close to the back of the pack, co-trailed on the inside down the back straight, could see the field saving ground on the far turn, shifted out three wide for the stretch run but could only pass a pair of tired rivals in the late running. JOYRIDER was forced in on the start, stalked near the rear between foes on the first turn, progressed on the fence along the backside, was asked for more run on the rail inside runners at the three furlong pole while getting little response around the far turn, shifted out three wide at the top of the lane but failed to menace in the stretch running. BORDER TOWN was away slowly seeing the field, was eager pulling the rider three wide outside rivals on the first turn, travelled four deep advancing on the outside down the backside, made a brief rally circling four wide around horses midway on the last turn but had little left in upper stretch and tired while swinging out widest in the six path at the top of the lane.
