Footnotes
MOON CHANNEL had the outside paired up with another sitting in mid-division, was near the rear cantering along having only runner beaten with one lap remaining, began to reach for more ground narrowing the margin at the half mile marker, moved in sharply with a quick turn of foot three wide from the three furlong pole to the quarter marker, dueled outside in the three path at the top of the lane and went set down for more pulled away smartly in the final sixteenth increasing the advantage with every stride. BEYOND ADVERSITY assumed command having the inside post after the break, was reined back midway on the initial bend letting the outside rival dictate the pace, sat all alone keeping the loose leader in his sights with one lap to go, moved in down the backstretch to cruise to the front end two wide with the pacesetter stopping by the seven sixteenths pole, pulled away briefly at the three eighths marker, dug in when headed outside by the winner in upper stretch, fought on stubbornly inside until the sixteenth pole relinquishing the lead and just lasted at the wire saving for the runners up share. NO HAY DOS was in no hurry in this route race galloping along at the back of the pack in the early stages, commenced a run three wide following the winner midway around the third and final bend, shifted to the four path in the hunt outside at the top of the stretch, was no match for the top spot with a sixteenth still to run but still kept on coming and just missed outside at the final line with one last push for the place share. IRISH MOJO had a good spot watching the front pair in the early going, closed the gap three deep outside at the three-furlong pole, was roused for more two wide between foes at the five sixteenths but the winner was swooping past on the outside and could only finish up one paced through the stretch to be well back of the lead three while easily holding for a minor role in the end. BEACH FACTOR had the inside position sitting in midfield, made no movement in position but narrowed the margin like so many did at the midpoint along the backside, was hard ridden but could not keep up with the pace quickening midway around the final bend, trailed the group with a quarter mile from home but did manage to pass the leg weary early frontrunner who ran out of gas down the lane. ERIE SHORES pulled the rider outside taking control two wide on the first of three turns, was well ahead coming under the wire for with a circuit still to run, opened up even further on the second bend, was tapped on the right shoulder by the rider with the field quickly closing in at the half, had little left to offer surrendering the front end by the seven sixteenths pole, retreated on the rail through the far turn and emptied out on the fence in upper stretch.
