Footnotes
CANADA travelled three deep in the early mix up top, was reined back off the engaged duo at the three quarters pole, gave chase two wide to the loose pacesetter throughout the turn, angled to the four-path closing in posing the main threat at the top of the lane, rallied by the furlong pole taking over the lead from a game frontrunner and drew away in the late stages for the impressive win. MO COOKIE had a slim lead on the outside in the early stages, cleared off at the half mile marker, rambled along loose up front around the bend, hugged the rail in command at the top of the lane, had no answer when collared outside by the winner with a furlong to go but still fought on to the very end to be a clear second best at the finish line. BUNYAN was near the rear in the beginning, moved up inside at the three quarters marker, then was shuffled back to midfield by the half, regressed inside through the turn to have only one runner beaten at the five sixteenths pole, reached for more ground when ridden for more four wide in upper stretch and closed in belatedly in the final furlong to finish up capturing the third place share well back of the lead two at the wire. GLORIOUS GEM was relaxed finding her stride close to the back end in the early running, started to make a move ranging up three wide at the half, got into another gear coming on with a good rally four wide at the five sixteenths pole, had the six path entering the lane and ran on mildly in the last eighth of a mile for a minor placing in the end. KING'S COUNSEL pressed the pace on the rail along the back straightaway, gave way up top inside by the half mile marker, was hard ridden but going the wrong way at the three eighths pole, wilted inside in upper stretch but was resurgent coming back on inside improving by a couple of positions late. GHOSTFACE broke sharp having the advantage in the beginning, settled into a good rhythm in the third flight outside when the field was sorting itself out midway down the backstretch, improved three wide around the bend, had aim on the front two runners shifting to the five path at the head of the lane, but could not find more late and faded between rivals in the final sixteenth of a mile. SUNNY'S RAINBOW was checked shortly after leaving the gate trailing down the backside, started a run picking up a rival at the seven sixteenths pole, made a big circling move five wide at the five sixteenths pole, continued to gather even more momentum swinging out widest in the eight path with a quarter left to run, battled outside for the show award with the lead pair having it to themselves at the furlong marker but could not sustain the run and flattened out in deep stretch. BARGER had a good spot early on having the rail tracking the front three runners, made little impact in the third flight with horses on both sides in the turn running and could not get involved through the stretch drive. WHATTA MOVE settled in midfield between foes down the backstretch, made no headway two wide around the bend, angled to the six path at the quarter pole but failed to menace in the late going. ROAD TO GLORY travelled on the outside having only the troubled start beaten along the backside, was spinning his wheels through the turn being relegated to last by the three eighths pole, lost touch with the field turning for home and cantered in.
