Footnotes
WORKOUT AFFAIR travelled three wide close to the back of the pack on the first bend, ranged up three deep advancing outside foes through the backstretch, had a sharp turn of foot circling three wide around rivals at the five sixteenths pole to seize command at the top of the stretch and was kept busy down the lane to prevail by a shrinking margin at the finish line. MIKELLE had a good spot isolated watching the lead two, rallied smartly on the rail at the five sixteenths pole, shifted out three wide in the thick of things at the top of the stretch, moved inside just off the rail under right handing asking at the sixteenth pole and closed in late but could not get to the winner in time at the finish line. COZY CURLIN KITTEN had the fence while near the rear on the first turn, made little change along the backside, started to uncork a run three wide midway on the last turn, shifted out widest in the six path in upper stretch gathering momentum and with a steady sustained rally outside foes got up late for the show money. PERIWINKLE had the inside position in midfield in the early going, was nudged along holding her own taking the short way around the far turn, skimmed the fence turning for home and finished with interest between runners late battling for the show money but had to settle on the fringes in the end. TEXAS HOLIDAY had the rail up top on the first bend, continued to ramble loose on the lead down the backside, was roused at the five sixteenths pole but was overhauled by the eventual winner at the quarter pole, still was in the mix for a share of the prize on the fence at the furlong marker but wilted late trying to hold inside for the third place position in deep stretch. ZISISIT (IRE) was content to sit back tracking the pacesetter, closed the gap by the half mile marker, could not keep up to runners on either side who were making a rally through the far turn, moved to the three path for the stretch run but showed little down the lane. RETAIL THERAPIST settled on the outside in mid-division, improved mildly still outside runners down the backstretch to track the lead duo by the half, was roused three wide keeping pace with rivals midway on the last turn, shifted five wide at the top of the lane but weakened between horses by the furlong marker. SNATCHED broke in at the start, galloped along at the rear in the beginning, could still see the strung-out field down the back straight, lagged behind on the final bend and could only manage to pass a weary rival outside in the four path turning for home. THAT GIRL ARTEMUS was brushed on the outside at the break, stalked on the fence in the early stages, made little movement inside down the back straight, could not keep up to rivals under encouragement through the far turn and had little to offer in the two path down the stretch drive.
