Footnotes
GRANDE SOIREE broke inwards on the start, was forwardly placed outside tracking the front two rivals down the backside, edged up three wide on the contesting pair around the turn, loomed in the four oath at the top of the stretch, kept coming on while never switching leads through the stretch drive but still relentlessly wore down the inside lead twosome in the final seventy yards pulling clear at the wire for the win. PINE KNOLL chased the pacesetter in the two path down the backstretch, moved in battling outside the frontrunner at the five sixteenths pole, stubbornly kept fighting between horses down the entire lane but was no match for the winner outside in the final seventy yard while still showing grit to get the nod for the secondary share at the finish line. NAPA SPIRIT (IRE) was away alertly unopposed along the backside, dueled on the rail midway around the turn with an outside foe, determinedly kept finding while clinging on the front end in mid-stretch but was outfinished by the winner in the very late going and then was just nosed out by the outside rival at the wire for the runners up placing as well. POSEIDON STEEL had the rail position sitting inside a couple of challengers in the third tier early on, crept closer relaxed on the fence at the half, saved all the ground around the bend but could not gain on the front three rivals, scraped paint turning for home, shifted outside off the lead trio with a furlong to go but lacked a rally in deep stretch. GIVEMEMYTHEMEMUSIC had runners on both sides sitting near the rear in the third flight, made little headway while two wide in midfield around the oval, shifted to the five path coming on closing the gap on rivals throughout the stretch drive but could not gain any position when crossing the finish line. INDIAN PEAK was brushed outside at the start trailing along the back straight, tried to make a rally three wide passing an outside foe at the three eighths pole, swung out widest in the six path in with a chance for a piece of the prize taking the final corner but could not sustain the run and idled outside runners in the final eighth of a mile. TIGER TOWN travelled three deep close to the back, was relegated to last being passed by an inside foe with four wide by midturn, hugged the rail turning for home but could not play a factor in the stretch running.
