Footnotes
SILENT TACTIC was off a step slow on the break, had a good spot nestled on the rail behind the leader early on, started to make a move when scrubbed on at the five sixteenths pole shifting off the rail, angled out to the three-path posing to only opposition to the leader at the top of the stretch, kept gradually coming on down the lane and found another gear in deep stretch pulling away for the win in the final seventy yards. VALLEY OF KINGS was jostled between runners on the first turn, hounded the pacesetter outside rating kindly down the backside, seized control at the three eights marker, increased the advantage on the far turn moving well within himself, could not fend off the winner outside in deep stretch and finished up easily besting the rest in a strung-out field at the wire. PROUD PAINTER was in tight quarters in the five path with the field six across on the first turn, settled into stride watching the lead duo while in the three path with runners on each side down the backstretch, began to edge up when roused midway on the final bend three wide, was pushed out four wide at the quarter pole and ram on willingly to get a being a distant third at the finish line. INSTANT RESPONSE was hustled from the outer post intent on the lead, was under a snug hold in the three path trying to slow the pace down going into the first of two turns, dictated the pace inside while shadowed down the back straight, had no answer when collared outside at the three furlong pole and weakened on the fence staying on the incorrect lead down the lane to settle for a minor role in the end. GRAND WARRIOR (JPN) was away slowly on the start, tracked just off the fence in the two path in the first turn, kept a close eye on the lead duo while between runners in the two path along the backside, was urged for more at the five sixteenths pole with rivals on either side, was checked hard coming up to the quarter pole between runners losing all momentum and could not recover enough to get involved in the stretch running. TWENTYTWO SOLES travelled six abreast outside runners heading into the first turn, could see the field going four deep down the backstretch, came under a ride still taking the overland route five wide on the final turn and had nothing left to offer in the stretch run. RIDERS CLAIM OF FOUL #2 GRAND WARRIOR AS WELL AS #4 PROUD PAINTER ON # 1 SLIENT TACTIC BETWEEN THE FIVE SIXTEENTHS AND QUARTER POLE WAS DISALLOWED
