Footnotes
SHOTGUN WEDDING was tucked in on the rail watching the lead trio heading into the first bend, was under a good hold rating kindly keeping pace with the leaders down the backside, moved in smartly at the three furlong pole, vied between runners for the front with a quarter mile to go, spurted clear in the two path by the furlong pole and was kept to the task holding off runners at the wire. TIZ HER MONEY was allowed to settle into stride at the back of the pack in the beginning, co-trailed inside another at the half, had horse waiting for running room at the five sixteenths pole, burst through runners three wide at the quarter marker to be in the mix in the five path in upper stretch and closed in resolutely in the final furlong but just could not get to the winner in time. NO TIME had a slim lead inside on the first turn, shook loose setting a lively pace at the half, was collared outside by the winner a quarter mile from home, lost the lead at the top of the stretch, dug back in never wavering at the furlong pole, closed the gap in the late stages but lost the nod from a deep closer for the place share at the wire. CUE THE DUCKBOATS stalked in the two path near the rear for the first part of the race, trailed the group at the three eighths marker, offered a good rally circling around foes four wide on the second turn, swung out widest in full flight six wide straightening out for the drive, came with a good late rush in the final sixteenth of a mile and to get up for a minor placing outside runners in the end. SALT stalked close to the back on the first turn, made little headway along the backside, was roused at the three eighths pole making a brief move with five sixteenths still to run, had a chance three wide for a piece of the prize at the top of the lane, finished up mildly in the final furlong but just lost in the final few jumps before the wire for a minor share. WILL THEN was part of the trio up top going three wide outside foes going into the turn, took back by the three quarter pole to watch the engaged pair into the backstretch, galloped along in midfield at the half, picked up the bit when roused on the far turn to bid three wide at the quarter pole, could not sustain the run at the top of the stretch and flattened out between horses three wide at the furlong marker. MADAME OBEY travelled on the outside in mid-division down the back straight, was scrubbed on three wide at the three furlong pole but offered little run between runners on the final turn, angled to the four path for the drive to the wire but failed to menace in the stretch running. SOUPER ZONDA prompted the pace on the outside early on, dropped back off the lead midway down the backside, was going the wrong way by the three furlong pole retreating through the field just off the rail through the fat turn, could see the field turning for home and cantered down the lane across the finish line.
