Footnotes
NAMED FIREY had a head in front in the beginning, edged clear moving to the inside five furlongs out, rolled along unchallenged setting an even tempo through the turn, shifted to the two path holding on up front with two outside runners closing in and under a well rationed out ride had more when called upon under left-handed asking to pull away late for the gate to win tally. DWIGHT battled inside leaving the gate, was reined back letting the frontrunner go ahead further up top at the five eights marker, tacked contently two wide around the bend, moved in battling between runners in the three path at the head of the lane, almost got to even terms with the winner briefly in mid-stretch but was repelled in the final sixteenth to best the rest at the wire for the secondary prize. ATERYA had a good spot sitting isolated on the rail keeping an eye on the engaged duo early on, rated kindly taking the shortest way around the turn waiting for the cue to move, skimmed the fence in the mix at quarter pole, shifted to the two path with a furlong from home and finished up willingly to win the show duel inside in the late going. WILL WIN dwelt at the break spotting the field by many when finally leaving the gate, started to reach for more ground passing an inside rival three wide at the half mile marker, continued to range up outside throughout the turn making a good rally, angled out five wide in the hunt with the lead duo in upper stretch but understandably had little left when fading in the final furlong having to expel too much energy up just playing catch up in the early stages of the race. STELLA POINT had the rail down the backside ahead of only the very slow start, was relegated to the tail end being passed outside at the half mile marker, made little progression seeing the field around the turn and in the three path could not get involved in the stretch running.
