Footnotes
GO KART MOZART caught a flyer at the start to easily get in front on the rail along the backside, maintained a slim advantage on the fence around the bend, shook loose again at the top of the lane and under a vigorous stretch ride just held on from a closing in rival at the finish for the gate to wire score. RELOAD'S REBEL had the rail in midfield in the early stages, kept pace throughout the turn, angled to the two path looking for seam straightening out for the drive while in the thick of things, moved to the rail charging late at the furlong pole, shifted back outside slightly in deep stretch and surged late to make it close at the wire. PINE KNOLL travelled three deep in mid-division, tracked the contesting twosome while ranging up in the second flight outside around the bend, narrowed the margin to be in the mix four wide in upper stretch and was gradually gaining on the front pair in the late running but settled for the show money at the wire. FORESTER'S FORTUNE was unhurried trailing in the early going, caught up to runners three wide between foes at the quarter pole, shifted out five wide making a seam turning for home, had run in mid-stretch and was edging closer late but could only settle on the fringes in the end. ONE TRUE GENTLEMAN was nestled on the rail rating kindly watching the engaged pair, had the fence poised waiting for the cue to go behind the top duo on the turn, loomed boldly in the two path in upper stretch but had little to give late and flattened out by the sixteenth pole. GILT EDGE settled near the rear on the rail, stalked outside in the third tier around the oval, shifted out four wide at the quarter marker, was floated out widest in the six path at the top of the stretch and could only manage to pass a weary rival in the final sixteenth. TAZMAN improved down the backside taking closer order to force the pace outside at the half, bobbed heads outside for the lead at the quarter pole, could not quicken with the winner at the top of the stretch, faltered between foes three wide at the furlong pole, appeared to have taken a misstep shortly thereafter and cantered across the wire.
