Footnotes
SIGNATURE SIR dueled on the outside down the backstretch, had a head in front on the outside at the three furlong pole, edged clear while in hand by the quarter pole, was moving strong up front in the two path at the top of the lane and was kept to the task in the final furling increasing the winning margin at the wire. AWESOME BEAT was reluctant loading at the start, trailed in the beginning, moved to the fence by the half, rallied splitting foes in the three path at the three eighths marker, burst between runners in a tight seam three wide at the quarter pole, shifted inwards to the rail at the top of the lane and chased the winner home just off the fence in deep stretch. LONG ACTING stalked near the rear three deep on the outside at the half, made a good circling move four wide midturn, shifted out in the mix five wide turning for home and ran on willingly to be a non threatening third at the finish line. BEE ME settled in mid-pack early on, was relegated to the back of the pack by the half, rallied shifting out four wide for clear run at the quarter marker, angled to the five path at the top of the lane and closed in mildly to be a fringe player in the end. GUS'S DRUMBEET tracked the contesting duo going three deep outside down the backstretch, edged closer three wide midway on the bend, shifted to the four path with a chance for a share in upper stretch and finished up one paced in the final furlong losing the duel for the minors inside at the wire. SPEEDY CONNECTION vied between runners in the beginning, took back off the leaders at the half when tracking inside two others, could see the field at the five sixteenths pole, shifted out at the quarter pole avoiding the troubled runners to be four wide four the drive but could not offer a finish in the late running. SAMMYSAURUS REX broke a step slow on the start, was roused soon after to get involved, picked up the bit very eager down the backstretch having to be hard held behind foes at the nine sixteenths pole, settled into a rhythm by the midpoint of the turn in midfield between horses, had tight quarters bounced around between rivals with two furlongs from home, shifted to the rail for the drive but could not factor in the late running. NAUGHTY FROSTY pulled the rider to the lead on the fence down the backside, relinquished the front end inside at the three furlong pole, was shuffled back on the rail at the five sixteenths pole, knocked off stride with crowded inside horses at the quarter pole and could not recover to play a role, galloping in down the stretch. STEWARDS INQUIRY REGARDING #8 AWESOME BEAT AT THE QUARTER POLE RESULTED IN NO CHANGE
