Footnotes
BLAZE OF MISCHIEF had the fence settling close to the back, started to lengthen stride at the half inside runners, advanced smartly taking the shortest way around still in hand on the final turn, skimmed the fence in upper stretch, seized control easily inside horses at the eighth pole and drew away with authority in the the late running. BEACH CRICKET had a stalking trip with rivals on each side moving through the initial bend, offered little movement along the backside, closed the gap moving in with the eventual on the inside around the last turn to be in the thick of things shifting to the six path for the drive, could not quicken with the winner by the furlong marker but determinedly kept on the be a distant second best at the finish line. CHERVONARUTA stumbled badly on the break with the rider losing the outside iron, recovered settling into stride well back of the group in the early stages, started to mount a run picking up an inside foe at the five sixteenths pole, swung out widest in the seven path with a chance turning for home, could not get to the overpowering winner a furlong to the wire, dueled outside for the place share and with a gritty performance considering the poor start, was a clear third at the finish line. SUNLIT was all alone keeping a close eye on the lead duo for the first half of this two turn race, started to reel in the contesting pair at the three furlong pole, moved in four wide in the conversation up front turning for home, could not quicken with the winner inside at the furlong marker and faded in the final sixteenth to settle on the fringes in the end. MIA MITOLE had a good position watching the pacesetter on the first turn just off the rail, inched closer down the backstretch outside, bid for the lead at the three furlong pole to take control while in the two path between foes with a quarter mile still to run and gave way between runners three wide by the furlong marker. MALIBU BETTY travelled three wide outside of a couple of runners early on near the rear, advanced mildly three deep down the back straight to sit in midfield by the half, was relegated to the back of the pack midway around the final bend, picked up the weary frontrunner in mid-stretch but could not factor in the late running. TALLAWAH was bumped inside by the troubled rival on the break, cleared from the outer post to take this field on the rail through the first turn, continued on unopposed down the backside, was collared outside at the three eighths pole, fought on inside through the far turn and faltered in the two path between horses by upper stretch.
