Footnotes
YERWAN stumbled on the break, recovered to be isolated watching the engaged trio at the five furlong marker, took closer order outside to be in the second flight at the half, cruised around three wide on the turn coming to the lead pair with ease by the quarter pole, pounced in the three path taking the corner, dug in getting her head in front at the furlong marker and had to be kept busy in the last sixteenth of a mile just holding off a pair of fast closing outside rivals at the finish line. HER FINAL WORD settled near the rear having only a troubled start beaten down the back straightaway, was driven on at the three furlong pole commencing a two wide rally passing inside rivals on the turn, swung out widest to the five path full of run at the top of the lane and charged home determinedly but just missed getting to the winner between runners in a tight three way finish while saving the runners up share in the process. WHISPERING ECHO hopped up tossing her head at the start spotting the field by many leaving the chute, lagged well behind the pack under a vigorous ride at the three furlong marker, began to reach for more ground three wide catching up to an inside rival at the quarter pole, shifted to the four path straightening out foe the drive, moved out five wide getting clear run with a furlong to go and had a strong late rush in deep stretch but was on the losing end of a three way finish for the win. ARRABBIATA was off a step slowly on the break, was nudged finding her footing shortly thereafter taking the lead on the rail setting a brisk pace by the five eighths marker, slackened the tempo slightly on the fence up top while hounded by an outside foe through the bend, was collared by the winner outside at the top of the stretch, relinquished the lead at the eighth pole and faded inside runners never switching leads in the final furlong. GREAT BIG DIAMOND vied between horses in the beginning, took back to be inside the eventual winner in the second flight watching the pair at the half, could not quicken with foes retreating on the rail in midturn, moved to the two path for the stretch run but could only finish up one paced in the stretch running. HARPOON broke out on the start, prompted the issue outside the leader down the backside under a rapid pace, continued to throw it down outside around the turn, gave way between runners arguing for the front end by the quarter pole, moved to the rail in upper stretch but folded inside rivals in the last furlong. WINNING JEWEL sat all alone in midfield at the half with the group very strung out by then, was going in the wrong direction spinning her wheels on the rail around the turn, skimmed the fence being relegated to last turning for home and came up empty in the stretch drive.
