Footnotes
SOUPER CALIBER was content to sit back off the frontrunner in the beginning, rated kindly always keeping a close eye on the leader down the backstretch, patiently started to reel in the pacesetter with just a nudge of the riders hands at the five sixteenths pole, glided to the lead three wide taking control in upper stretch, opened up effortlessly at the furlong pole and coasted home for the impressive win under only a hand ride. GELATO had the rail position in the middle of the pack, took closer order tracking the pacesetter just off the fence by the half, edged up on the rail midway along the final turn, shifted out two wide off the tiring leader turning for home and chased the winner but to no avail through the stretch to be second best on this day. PROUD PAINTER shared the rear while outside a rival early on, was unhurried seeing the field at the half, started to lengthen stride splitting horses at the five sixteenths pole, angled to the three path gaining momentum in upper stretch and kept on trying, running on willingly going between rivals at the furlong marker to be a clear third at the finish line. NOBURU settled in midfield outside another, travelled three deep making little change outside foes along the backside, had little forward movement going three wide outside challengers on the far turn, shifted out widest in the five path for the stretch drive and finished up one paced on the outside to be a fringe player in the end. TOLD (IRE) co-trailed on the inside going around the first of two turns, improved along the backstretch making a brief run on the fence at the half mile marker, could not quicken with others and was relegated to the rear having the rail midway around the second bend and could only manage to pick up the leg weary frontrunner in the final sixteenth of a mile. COURT was keen loose on the lead on the fence into the initial turn, settled into stride uncontested up top setting an even tempo down the backside, remained up front but by a shrinking lead on the far turn at the quarter pole, offered no resistance inside when the winner swept past at the top of the lane and had little left folding on the fence at the furlong marker.
