MAGNA TIME was squeezed back just after the break exchanging minor contact, caught outside three wide on the first turn, made a swift early move up the backstretch outside foes four deep, pressed through the far turn, was in command by the top of the stretch, edged clear while being kept to the task. FLIRTING WITH FIRE was forced in at the break bumping with a foe, moved to the lead setting the pace from off the inside, was pressed by outside foes midway up the backstretch, overtaken at the top of the stretch, dug in gamely fighting on, proved no match for the winner but kept on to hold the place. GRAFFITI WRITER rated in behind off the pace inside saving ground through both turns, kicked on along the rail in the stretch but needed more and just missed second. WATSONVILLE RED was bumped after the start, brought up the rear inside, came out for the second turn just off the fence, ran on between foes in the stretch to improve and get up for the minor award. BOWMAN'S RUN broke inwardly bothering rivals, was forwardly-placed stalking foes from outside, raced three to four deep on both turns, came out a bit for the drive, lacked the needed late kick. COMMANDER WORSLEY was bumped at the start, was forwardly-placed shifting in saving ground early on the first turn, took back and switched out leaving that bend moving up to press for the run up the backstretch, was in contention between foes on the far turn, came up empty and lugged out a bit in the stretch while weakening.
