Footnotes
AMERICAN DECISION was hustled at the start pressing the pace inside, tracked the frontrunner inside another foe down the backside, took control on the fence three furlongs out, opened up through the far turn and cruised in down the lane easily besting the field at the finish line. PROFESSOR RELOAD was brushed outside to begin, edged up on the rail but had to be checked midway along the first bend, settled in mid-pack on the fence along the back straight, improved inside horses at the half, reached for more ground trying to go after the winner at the five sixteenths pole, angled to the two path for the stretch run and chased in vain to the wire to be second best. STARVIN settled on the rail close to the back of the pack in the early stages, had a sharp turn of foot improving inside foes at the quarter pole on the fence to be in the thick of things shifting five wide in upper stretch but stalled in the drive by the furlong marker and just lasted at the wire for the show money. ARMINO was brushed on the outside at the start to co-trail outside another early on, remained at the rear along the back straight, started to make a rally on the fence at the three furlong pole, hugged the rail coming on in upper stretch and ran on willingly to the wire settling for a minor share in the end but almost getting the third place prize at the wire. COMPTON broke in at the start, settled between runners in midfield, came under a ride in the two path with rivals on either side keeping pace at the five sixteenths pole, angled five wide at the top of the stretch but flattened out in upper stretch. IRISH DEPUTY had a good spot watching the leader while outside another in the first part of this route race, moved three wide outside of horses at the three furlong pole but could not keep up to others around the final bend, shifted out widest in the seven-path turning for home but could not get involved. BLONDINA'S BOY travelled four wide outside horses in midfield on the initial bend, remained in mid-pack three deep still on the outside of foes at the half, had little to offer taking the overland route four wide on the second bend, swung out to the seven path for the drive but could not get involved in the late stages. DARE TO BE KING co-trailed on the inside in the beginning, stalked near the rear in the three path outside of two others along the backside, could not keep by the three eighths pole being well back of the field through the final turn, could not factor in the late running but did catch up to a weary straggler in mid-stretch. FOURLEGSGOOD broke inwards on the start, was roused to have the lead going four wide into the first turn, shook loose down the winded aided backstretch, surrendered the lead inside to eventual winner offering no resistance at the three-furlong pole, stopped through the field around the last turn and emptied out by upper stretch.
