Footnotes
TOTAL SENSATION had a nice set up on the outside tracking the embattled duo, moved in shifting off the engaged pair up top three wide at the quarter pole, pounced still under a hand ride in upper stretch, glided to the lead taking control by the furlong pole and was briefly tapped right-handed in deep stretch to hold safe for the win. BIG SCREEN BOSS had a good trip tucked in on the rail watching the front duo who was having a race to their own early on, edged up behind the contesting pair in the two path with a quarter mile from home, shifted out four wide in upper stretch with the eventual winner getting the jump at the furlong pole and finished up solidly to be second best at the finish line. AWESOME BEAT was allowed to settle into stride on the outside seeing the field early on, started to get into gear picking up an inside challenger at the three furlong pole, closed in smartly four wide at the quarter pole having a good chance in the five path at the top of the stretch, was no match for the front two runners at the furlong pole but did run on mildly passing the tiring early dueling leaders inside and finished up a clear third at the wire. SAMMYSAURUS REX broke sharp for the lead at the start, had a pesky speed foe inside through the backstretch throwing it down well ahead of the rest of the pack, battled outside under a rapid pace through the turn still going head to head, was collared by outside rivals while two wide turning for home offering no resistance and wilted between horses with a sixteenth still to run. LOHAN broke inwards having to be straightened out near the rear after the break, rushed up between horses dueling inside another separating themselves down the backside at the half, continued to fight on the rail under a brisk pace around the oval, skimmed the fence with a shrinking advantage with outside rivals closing in at the top of the stretch, had little left in the tank for the stretch drive and folded inside runners at the furlong marker. LONG ACTING had a stalking role down the backside on the fence ahead of only one runner along the backside, was relegated to last being passed on the outside at the three furlong pole, was well back of the group running around the bend and was not a factor in the late running.
