MCKENZIE ROAD was quick to take the lead, set the pace inside facing outside pressure, kicked clear in upper stretch, just held under steady urging. TAKE CHANCES tracked from inside mid-pack, saved ground on the turns, found a seam in upper stretch, gained steadily but missed. POWAQA unhurriedly brought up the rear, began advancing on the far turn moving out, fanned seven wide into upper stretch, ran along for show. ECLIPTICAL LADYBUG pressed the eventual winner, lacked the needed late kick. SOMEDAY GIRL was a bit rank fighting restraint in the early going racing inside, came out leaving the far turn and again in upper stretch to be six wide, ran on. SERENADING AMAYA settled off the pace outside, made an early advance outside foes four wide up the backstretch, drifted out a bit leaving the far turn, weakened in the stretch. DANCING IN RIO chased mid-pack outside, dropped back between foes and faded.
