Footnotes
FIGHTER IN THE WIN assumed command when the gates opened up while well in hand down the backside, maintained the lead just off the fence being nursed along up front through the turn, had rivals bearing down on either side in the drive to the wire but tenaciously fought on between foes prevailing in the end for the gate to wire score. CRUMLIN LAD was content to sit outside just off the pacesetter, still remained on the outside flank only applying mild pressure outside around the bend, angled to the three path turning for home having sin on the leader but just could not get by in the late running. WAGNER was tucked in on the rail having a good trip watching the lead duo, sat poised taking that short way around the turn measuring the top pair, skimmed the fence in tight cornering at the top of the lane and finished up evenly inside unable to get to the front running winner throughout the stretch drive. PINE KNOLL stumbled on the break to be near the rear on the outside early on, saved ground inching closer the the leaders by midturn, angled to the two path for the dyive to the finish line but could only run on one paced to be fringe player in the end. COMMANDER WORSLEY settled outside a fellow runner in midfield, made little progression travelling three wide around the oval, moved out in the four oath in with a chance for a piece of the prize but flattened out at the furlong marker. MOON LANDING was away slowly seeing the field down the backstretch, was scrubbed on for more but could not keep up the group midway around the turn and failed to menace galloping home on the fence in the stretch drive.
