Footnotes
STRAWBERRY AGAIN was allowed to settle into stride down the backstretch ahead of only one runner, began to reach for more ground well behind at the three eighths marker, closed in smartly by the quarter pole, angled out posing a threat four wide at the top of the stretch and wore down rivals one by one on the outside in a slow stretch pace to edge clear for the win at the finish line. BIG SCREEN BOSS dueled for the lead in the two path along the backside, determinedly vied between foes still fighting up front midway around the oval, took over control on the outside at the quarter pole, stubbornly battled between horses through the lane but was no match for the late charge from the winner outside in deep stretch. AWESOME BEAT had the rail tracking in the beginning, moved in closer on the fence by the half, got his head in front inside at the three eighths marker, fought on gamely on the fence down the lane coming back on for a brief moment at the sixteenth pole but faded slightly late to end up a clear third when crossing the finish line. KATHERINE'S CUB smartly took back off the scramble for the lead down the backside to track the embattled quartet at the half, waited for the cue to go sitting behind the leaders midway around the bend, was scrubbed on starting to pass outside horses at the quarter marker, shifted to the three path having clear run at the top of the lane but could only finish up one paced for a minor role in the end. LOHAN had a head in front in the three path with rivals on either side by the half, was going in the wrong direction three wide between horses at the three-furlong pole, shifted out to the five path turning for home but had little left to offer for the stretch run. INTERIM ANALYSIS was on the outside with runners four abreast fighting for the early lead, retreated steadily on the outside, four wide throughout the turn, swung out widest in the seven path in upper stretch but came up empty in the late running. M C LUVIN was under a busy ride but was dropping back seeing the field in the early stages, lost touch with the pack through the turn and could not play a factor in the stretch running.
