In the middle of the handicap, preference goes to the mare PUNTA LANCIA (5), who is in good form and nicely treated at the weights, and THE BEST OF ME (6), who meets Zar Bitter on better terms and, despite making his course debut, has the current form to get involved. ZAR BITTER (4) comes here after winning the Premio Livorno and absolutely thrives at this track. He will attempt to defend his crown despite racing off a higher mark than last year. LAST SHAMARDAL (1) has a hefty burden to shoulder but commands obvious respect on both class and current condition, while ROUGH RUSTIC (9) and CONTE ATTILIO (10) could be the dangerous outsiders in a contest where several others also have legitimate claims. 1M
