A Q with a box around it means qualifier, a $ crossed out means non-wagering race, and a 1 crossed out means the race was not at a mile distance. Power Rating - The TrackMaster feature which provides a single number showing the horses' relative overall strength in speed, class and pace for this track.

Historical Value Indicator - ["+", "L", "B"]
The "+" symbol next to the morning line odds means that the combination of the Power Rating Margin (difference between the top two horses power ratings) & the post time odds (approximated by the morning line) were profitable in the recent past.
The "L" symbol notes a potentially valuable long shot play. These plays are based on computer analysis of various "angles" which have produced long term positive profits with horses at odds of 8 to 1 or greater.
The "B" symbol signifies that both the "+" and "L" symbol apply in this situation.

Speed - The average of the best 5 speed ratings of the horse from it's last 10 races within the last 12 months.

Class - The average of the most recent 10 class ratings of the horse during the last 12 months.

Class Change - a down arrow indicates a class change down from the previous race of 5 class rating points or more. An up arrow indicates a class change up in class from the previous race of 5 class rating points or more.

Class and Speed Ratings - Definitions

Class Rating - A numeric indicator of the strength of this race and based on the competitors in this race. This rating is similar to a projected speed rating.

Speed Rating - A numeric indicator of the horses' speed in a race. This factor is adjusted so horses' speeds may be directly compared across different classes, track conditions & distances.

Pace Style

Call - The pace calculator analyzes the horse's positions at four stages in the race: 1st quarter, 2nd quarter, 3rd quarter, and Finish.

By averaging the positions a horse has been in at that stage over his past races, the pace calculator gives a number indicating where that horse usually is. If a horse shows a 1.5 Early, for example, it means this horse typically runs in front (between first and second) early in a race. Another horse might show a 6.8 Early, meaning it tends to run in sixth or seventh (more likely seventh as it is closer to 7 than 6) early in a race. By comparing the early to the middle and finish pace figures, you get an idea of which horses consistently run in front and which come from behind later in a race. The pace style figure is adjusted for post position, taking into account the post position in previous races as well as today's race and normalizing them to make meaningful comparisons of the running style of each horse.

#R - shows how many races went into the calculation of the average for that horse The maximum is 10 races over the previous 12 months.
