Footnotes
JANSSEN angled in while sent hard to the front, showed the way on the inside, was asked to pick it up when challenged some outside the five-eighths pole, came under more encouragement late on the backstretch, vied inside of two foes under urging while along the rail on the far turn, was put to a right-handed crop at the quarter-pole, switched to a left-handed crop outside the furlong marker, came out closer to the runner-up under threat approaching the sixteenth-pole and held gamely under strong urging. BROWN DON'T STOP raced in the three path on the first turn, raced just off the pace while inside of a foe to the five-eighths pole then dropped in, was asked while inside midway through the far turn, moved to the two path later on that bend, was driven into the stretch in the four path, pursued the winner on the outside while remaining on his inside lead, gained to make a bid outside the sixteenth-pole, drew alongside the winner in the final sixteenth but couldn't get by and missed while well clear for the place. YORK TAVERN went around the first turn in the four path, tracked the pace on the outside, made a bid under urging in the three path on the far turn, spun into the stretch in the five path and weakened while able to get the show. GUM ISLAND was sent very hard from the start then taken in hand when beaten to the front, traveled around the first turn in the two path, stalked the leader on the outside, vied between foes in the two path under urging on the far turn, dropped back into the final furlong and tired. DEPUTY CONNECT broke in the air and was off a bit slow, went around the turns in the two to three path and failed to respond. SKELLIG ISLAND saved ground on the first turn, settled near the back, came under urging just inside the five-eighths pole, raced inside while ridden along on the far turn and also failed to respond. JUST BE HONEST was hustled from the gate then taken in hand early, raced under a tight hold against the rail into the first turn, saved ground on that bend, moved out nearing the five-eighths pole, shifted from the three to four path under urging early on the turn, remained in the four path through that bend and was no factor.
