STRONG LIGHT broke a step slow, went around the first turn in the two path, moved out early on the backstretch, reached the outside of the field with five furlongs to run then made a strong middle move, gained to make a bid coming to the seven-sixteenths pole, took the lead while dropping from the five path to the three path on the far turn, battled outside of the runner-up under a drive into the final sixteenth and edged clear late under good handling. BOLD VICTORY went around the first turn in the five then four path, settled on the outside, came under urging when joined by the winner to the outside near the nine-sixteenths pole, made a bid leaving the backstretch, vied between horses while dropping from the four path to the two path on the final turn, battled with the winner into the final sixteenth then was outfinished while well clear for the place. PORTOS broke near the back of the field, saved ground on the first turn, was coaxed along on the backstretch, raced inside under urging for most of the far turn then shifted to the two path, came out to around the five path into upper stretch then quickly drifted out, was bumped soundly by a rival outside the furlong marker and improved for the show. WILD BANKER rounded the first turn in the two path, settled off the pace, was roused in the four path on the far turn and lacked the needed response. BADLANDS RULER was hustled to the front, showed the way on the inside, was headed outside the three-eighths pole, dropped back into upper stretch, drifted out in the drive and tired. HELIUM shifted from the two path to the rail early on the first turn, was well placed just off the pace, dropped back under urging late on the backstretch, moved from the three path to the rail on the far turn, spun into the stretch in the two path and came up empty. BECAUSE THE NIGHT raced in the four then three path on the first turn, stalked the pace on the outside, chased in the two to three path on the far turn, moved out in upper stretch, came out and bumped soundly with a rival outside the furlong marker and capitulated. JANSSEN was hustled from the gate, moved from the three path to the two path early on the first turn, prompted the pace between horses, came up empty after going five furlongs and faltered then was eased in the stretch but walked off.
