MASMAK broke out and bumped with a rival, moved off the rail nearing the first turn, was hard held while keen off heels in the two path on that bend, settled more kindly with about five furlongs to run, was given his cue at the seven-sixteenths then chased in the two path, moved to the three path outside the quarter-pole, was driven into upper stretch in the four path, gained to get the lead outside the furlong marker, shook off the runner-up into the final sixteenth and proved best under strong urging. PEEK was hustled to the front, dropped to the rail into the first turn, showed the way through moderate fractions, was asked while inside early on the far turn, fought inside of a foe while on even terms for the advantage, battled under a drive in upper stretch, vied with the winner until the sixteenth-pole then was outfinished while able to get the place. OLYMPIC DREAMS was bumped at the start and forced soundly into another rival then checked while pinched back, saved ground on the first turn, settled at the rear while off the rail on the backstretch, was roused outside the half-mile pole, went around the far turn in the four path under urging, was driven into upper stretch in the five path, chased outside into the final furlong and weakened but was clear for the show. MAGICAL WAYS prompted the pace on the outside in the two path, drew even with the leader late on the backstretch, was asked in the two path on the far turn, battled under a drive into the final furlong and tired. DUKE OF GLOUCESTER was last to commence, raced in the three path on the first turn, stalked the pace on the outside, made a brief bid under urging while in the three path on the far turn, dropped back near the five-sixteenths and came up empty. SUMMER CAUSE was bumped hard in the hindquarters just after the start, saved ground under a tight hold off heels on the first turn, was rated just off the pace on the inside, dropped back under urging late on the backstretch, moved from the rail to the two path on the far turn and capitulated.
