T KRAFT chased along the inside briefly before tipping to the two path settling just off the pace, tucked inside through the turn as a trio stacked in front across the track and came under coaxing near the quarter pole, took the inside route into upper stretch in behind the leader, angled out from the inside nearing the eighth pole bumping SAXTON and creating a lane for himself while tight between foes a furlong from home, leaned on SAXTON for four to five strides and seized command a sixteenth out, then dug in to prevail by a neck on the line. SAXTON coaxed from the gate, chased four then three wide coming under coaxing at the five-sixteenths, swung three wide into upper stretch and came in a path in tandem with ICAN straightened away near the three-sixteenths, got bumped outwards by T KRAFT tipping out from behind the leader near the eighth pole, then got leaned on while holding his lane through to the sixteenth marker, fought on to the finish to be bested by a neck on the wire. PAULA'S A STAR bobbled and was bumped at the start by ARCADIAN, who recovered inwards from a stumble, established the front and showed the way in hand along the inside coming under coaxing near the quarter pole, took the inside route into upper stretch, dug in under threat from a pair and was collared a sixteenth from home, then weakened in the late stages while just preserving the show honors at the end. ICAN coaxed from the start, chased five then four wide coming under encouragement at the three-eighths pole, swung four wide into upper stretch, came in a path near the three-sixteenths straightening away, offered up a bid a furlong out, then weakened in the late going. ARCADIAN stumbled at the start recovering inwards and bumping PAULA'S A STAR, chased three then two wide under a ride from the seven-sixteenths, swung four wide into upper stretch, offered no response. DO IT FOR MICHAEL bobbled at the break, chased three then two wide under urging from the five-sixteenths, spun just off the inside into upper stretch and took brief hold when SAXTON came inwards taking over the lane in front near the three-sixteenths, then weakened in the drive. There was a Stewards' Inquiry focusing on T KRAFT and SAXTON in the stretch run. Following review, the result was allowed to stand prior to the race being declared official.
