Footnotes
RUM CAY was bumped hard at the start and forced out, moved up near the five-eighths pole then took the lead, controlled the action in the two path on the turn, was asked outside the quarter-pole, extended the advantage into upper stretch, drew away under a strong hand-ride into the final furlong then was given one pop of a right-handed crop, was given one more pop of the crop while shortening stride near the sixteenth-pole and just held under a solid hand-ride to the finish. KING OF THE CASTLE raced up close to the pace while inside of an opponent, chased in the three path on the turn, turned into upper stretch under a drive, kept on well into the final furlong, gained fast on the leader into the final sixteenth and just missed while far clear for the place. MONOMOY BEACH broke out and bumped hard with a rival, showed speed then pressed the pace on the inside, dropped just behind the leader late on the backstretch, saved ground on the turn, was roused near the five-sixteenths pole and weakened while able to get the show. CONSIDER IT DONE was forwardly placed on the outside, chased in the four path on the turn and tired. TOTAL SILENCE ducked in at the start but broke in the front half of the field, showed speed then raced just off the pace, dropped back late on the backstretch, angled from the rail to the five path early on the turn, remained in the five path going around the second half of that bend and failed to respond. GOOD MOMENTS was bumped hard at the start then forced out into another rival, raced at the back under urging, saved ground on the turn and failed to threaten. RENEW THE BLUE had his head turned at the start and was off slow then came outwards, spotted the field several lengths, was urged along towards the rear, raced in the two to three path on the turn and was no factor. CADA DIA MEJOR bumped soundly with an opponent at the start, was urged between horses early, dropped back while climbing near the eleven-sixteenths pole, angled in before the five-eighths pole, saved ground on the turn and came up empty. EL BOMBI bumped soundly with a rival at the start, was urged along off the pace, dropped back with five furlongs to run, went around the turn in the three then four path, turned into the stretch in the five path and faltered.
