Footnotes
MADAM OPUS raced up close early then tracked the leader after going a furlong, ranged up to make a bid late on the backstretch, vied in the three then two path on the turn, took the lead into upper stretch then edged clear, responded well under a left-handed crop in the final furlong and maintained a safe advantage under steady urging. STONE COLD KELLY tracked the early pace on the outside, dropped further behind the leader inside the three-quarter pole, moved closer late on the backstretch, was asked in the four then three path on the turn, turned into the stretch under the crop, pursued the winner while remaining on her inside lead until outside the sixteenth-pole, swapped to the proper lead at that point and safely secured the place. THAT'S FUNNY steadied behind horses outside the seven-eighths pole then swerved around a troubled foe, settled towards the back, was urged along in the two then three path on the turn and lacked the needed response. LUCKFORYOU established a forward position, was well placed down the backstretch, came under urging along the rail on the turn, remained on her left lead while off the inside in the stretch, raced between horses into the final sixteenth and tired. MORE THAN GRACE went to the front, shied badly outside the seven-eighths pole, ducked in and lost action then was taken up and had STAND THE RAIN clip her heels, rushed back up on the inside to regain the lead with six furlongs to run then went clear, was challenged late on the backstretch, vied inside while asked on the turn, lost the advantage to the winner into the stretch and tired. OCEAN RAIN settled off the pace, moved in at the rear outside the five-eighths pole, saved ground on the turn and failed to threaten. STAND THE RAIN checked behind a rival outside the seven-eighths pole then clipped heels, checked sharply while trying to recover then swerved towards the outside and was pulled up then transported off the track via equine ambulance.
