EL GRANDE O tipped out just after the start to be outside his only rival and four paths off the rail, came under coaxing at the three-eighths marker, latched on to the outside nearing the quarter pole and was floated seven wide into upper stretch, came in slightly as VICTORY WAY came out and traded a bump just outside the eighth pole, seized command at that station, dug in gamely to prevail. VICTORY WAY broke sharply and to the front under hustling, showed the way in hand three paths off the inside down the backstretch and through the turn, had the aforementioned foe latch on nearing the quarter pole and swung six wide into upper stretch carrying that rival seven wide, came outwards nearing the eighth pole as EL GRANDE O came in slightly and traded a bump just before being headed for command, fought on to the finish.
