POWERED BY COAL showed speed between horses, dropped back nearing the three-quarter pole then moved to the outside, gained to make a bid in the three path on the turn, took a short lead at the quarter-pole, lost the advantage in upper stretch, fought on well in the final furlong, battled on even terms with the winner coming to the finish and just missed while clear for the place. BECK'S DREAMER was bumped at the start then forced in and dropped back, moved in with five furlongs to run, gained under urging while shifting from the two path to the four path on the turn, rallied to the lead in upper stretch, lost the advantage to the winner outside the sixteenth-pole and was outfinished while able to get the show. NOGUCHI was hustled from the gate, contested the pace on the inside of an opponent, was asked late on the backstretch, vied along the rail while inside of two foes on the turn, lost the advantage coming to the quarter-pole, battled inside several rivals under a drive into the final sixteenth and weakened. CAT FAST was hustled from the gate then came in and jostled with a foe, disputed the pace on the outside, was asked in the two path on the turn, passed the five-sixteenths pole between horses, battled between foes under a drive into the final furlong, dropped back into the final sixteenth and faltered. CHARLIE HUSTLE dropped back then settled near the rear, fell well behind late on the backstretch, rounded the turn in the four path without being urged and was eased but walked off.
