MALU coaxed from the gate, raced three wide into the first turn before clearing a pair of rivals to tuck to the rail midway on that bend, showed the way in hand three paths off the inside down the backstretch and then from the two path through the far turn coming under coaxing near the quarter pole, swung three then two wide into upper stretch, edged clear under a drive to the eighth pole, dug in and held safe to prevail. BELLS BEACH chased three then two wide under a ride from the five-sixteenths, angled four wide into upper stretch, dug in under a drive offering up a mild kick to secure the place honors, latching on the leader as she hit the wire. GOLD LIGHTNING stumbled at the start, raced three then two wide through the first turn before chasing four then three wide, came under urging with seven-sixteenths remaining, angled five to six wide into upper stretch, offered up a mild bid. SOUNDBITE got bumped at the start by RISING INFLATION, chased just off the inside and then along the inside under a ride from the three-eighths, swung four wide into upper stretch and stayed on one paced to the finish. RISING INFLATION broke in at the start bumping SOUNDBITE, chased three wide under urging from the seven-sixteenths, went six wide into upper stretch, trailed throughout.
