Footnotes
BALLERINA D'ORO was coaxed from the gate then taken in hand early, saved ground under strong restraint on the first turn, was rated just off the pace, shifted from the two path to the four path while stalking the leaders on the far turn, was given her cue at the five-sixteenths pole, rallied to the lead into the stretch then battled with the runner-up, drifted in while remaining on her inside lead under a hand-ride outside the furlong marker then was given one pop of a right-handed crop, switched to a left-handed crop shortly thereafter, swapped to the proper lead outside the sixteenth-pole, dueled outside of the runner-up to the finish and narrowly prevailed. EARLY ON raced in the three path on the first turn, prompted the pace on the outside, was urged along passing the five-eighths pole, took a short lead late on the backstretch, vied between foes in the two path early on the far turn then inside of opponents, lost the advantage to the winner into the stretch, fought on gamely inside of that foe to the finish and just missed while clear for the place. DELORAINE rounded the first turn in the four path, stalked the pace on the outside, made a bid near the nine-sixteenths pole, was asked in the three path on the far turn, turned into the stretch between horses, dropped back into the final furlong and weakened but was well clear for the show. VANILLA SUNDAE was hustled to the front, moved to the rail early on the first turn, showed the way through moderate fractions, was headed late on the backstretch, dropped back along the rail while under urging on the far turn and tired. PURE BEAUTY was bumped at the start then brushed with that same foe, dropped from the five path to the three path early on the first turn then moved to the two path, settled off the pace, was urged along in the three to four path on the final turn and failed to respond. DIRIYAH broke out and bumped with a foe then brushed with that rival, steadied while squeezed back between horses nearing the first turn, dropped from the three path to the two path early on that bend, settled at the rear, was urged along passing the five-eighths pole, saved ground on the far turn, moved to the two path outside the quarter-pole and faltered.
