BADGE OF WAR was reluctant to load, bumped solidly with a rival at the start, contested the pace on the outside of a foe, vied in the four then three path on the turn, was given his cue near the five-sixteenths pole then shook clear, drifted out when put to a left-handed crop near the furlong marker and held under steady urging. RAGAZZO DIABOLICO chased the pace on the outside then in the five path on the turn, pursued the winner outside in the stretch, gained on that foe late but missed while just able to get the place. SCAT TU TAP was urged along off the pace, went around most of the turn in the four path, dropped to the three path briefly near the five-sixteenths pole then went back to the four path, turned into upper stretch under a drive, moved out some in pursuit of the top two in the stretch, gained on the winner late and just missed the place while well clear for the show. DEVIL'S CAY bumped solidly with an opponent at the start, was urged along on the outside, dropped from the four path to the two path early on the turn, angled out to the five path late on that bend, turned into the stretch in the six path, moved inward in the final furlong and lacked the needed response. FLAT ON chased the pace, raced in the three then two path on the turn, dropped back between horses around the five-sixteenths pole, fell further back into the stretch, drifted out inside the furlong marker and had nothing left. TIMAEUS came outward at the start then was hustled, contested the pace on the inside of the winner, was urged along late on the backstretch, dropped back while saving ground on the turn, drifted out near the furlong marker and capitulated.
