Footnotes
STRATEGIC FOCUS settled on the outside, stalked in the four path on the turn, was roused while moving to the five path outside the quarter-pole, rallied to make an outside bid in upper stretch, took the lead outside the furlong marker and prevailed under strong urging. HOP SING stalked the pace on the outside, made a bid late on the backstretch, was asked at the seven-sixteenths pole, vied in the three path under urging on the turn, took the lead outside the quarter-pole, was asked for his best in upper stretch, lost the advantage to the winner outside the eighth-pole, fought on in the final furlong but missed while just able to get the place. DURATION was away a tad awkwardly, settled on the outside, gained to make a bid in the four path on the turn, was put to a drive in upper stretch, fought with the top two in the final furlong and was outfinished then just missed the place while clear for the show. STURDY settled off the pace, was roused near the seven-sixteenths pole, traveled around the turn in the three path, chased under a drive in upper stretch, drifted in under a right-handed crop into the final furlong and lacked the needed kick. CUANDO was taken under a snug hold inside the seven-eighths pole then well placed just off the pace, went around the turn in the two path, came under a drive in upper stretch, dropped back into the final furlong and tired. BARB went to the front, moved in approaching the three-quarter pole, vied inside on the turn, was asked under heavy threat outside the five-sixteenths pole, lost the advantage outside the quarter-pole and capitulated. KING LEE broke in and bumped the hindquarters of a foe and was off slow, dropped well behind the rest of the field, raced inside to the two path on the turn, came out into upper stretch, dropped inside an easing foe around the furlong marker and was no factor. WESTERN RUN was bumped in the hindquarters at the start then stumbled, moved up on the inside to race just off the pace, dropped back late on the backstretch, fell further back while saving ground on the turn, drifted out in upper stretch and faltered then was eased in the final furlong but walked off.
