CONNIVING got brushed at the start by FUNNY JOKE who broke inwards, chased along the inside and then just off the inside coming under coaxing at the three-eighths, spun just off the inside into upper stretch, waited for DILLINGER to clear outside and tipped out inside the three-sixteenths going four to five paths out inside the eighth pole, rallied to take command seventy yards from the finish and edged away kept to task. DILLINGER chased five wide coming under encouragement at the three-eighths marker, swung five then four wide into upper stretch, rallied to take command a furlong out, dug in under threat from flanking rivals and was caught with seventy yards to the finish, ran on to best a foe on the wire for the place honors. FUNNY JOKE broke in at the start brushing CONNIVING, dueled from the two path with RETURN THE RING to his outside, came under coaxing at the three-eighths, spun just off the inside into upper stretch, dug in under a drive and was collared a furlong out, ran on clear of the rest to secure the show honors. MASTERWORK struck the off side stall at the start, chased seven paths off the inside down the backstretch before tucking three wide through the turn, came under urging at the three-eighths pole, swung four to five wide for home and improved position to the finish. BEACHWALKER three then two wide in pursuit, came under coaxing at the seven-sixteenths, went eight wide into upper stretch and passed tired rivals. SIN NOMBRE four wide in pursuit, got pushed along three furlongs from home, tipped five wide into upper stretch and tired. STEADY PROGRESS coaxed from the gate, chased inside briefly before tipping out to be six paths off the rail down the backstretch, tucked four wide through the turn and was ridden along at the seven-sixteenths, swung six wide into upper stretch and tired. RETURN THE RING dueled from the three path with FUNNY JOKE to his inside, came under urging with five-sixteenths to go, went three wide into upper stretch and tired.
