Footnotes
SMILE MON was carried in at the start while hustled, went to the front then showed the way, vied inside of a foe while along the rail on the turn, responded well when asked outside the quarter-pole, shook clear into upper stretch, was put to a right-handed crop near the three-sixteenths pole, switched to a left-handed crop coming to the furlong marker, drifted out into the final sixteenth and held under steady urging. ALTERNATE REALITY settled at the rear on the outside, angled in near the eleven-sixteenths pole, was roused while saving ground on the turn, swung out to the four path into upper stretch, gained under a drive while remaining on his inside lead into the final furlong, chased while continuing on his inside lead into the final sixteenth and flattened out while just able to get the place. MAGNIFICENT MILE was carried in at the start, moved up while settling into a comfortable stride, was asked while shifting from the inside to the two path on the turn, chased the winner under a drive until just before the sixteenth-pole then was placed under a moderate hand-ride to the finish and just missed the place but was clear for the show. COSTA TERRA dropped back then settled towards the rear, was roused in the three then four path on the turn, turned into the stretch in the five path and lacked the needed response. JUST CALL RAY broke in then was hustled, pressed the pace under urging while on the outside of the leader, vied in the two path on the turn, dropped back into upper stretch and tired. TABEGUACHE settled off the pace, was asked while in the two to three path on the turn, spun into the stretch in the four path then moved in and also lacked the needed response.
