Footnotes
LEON BLUE was reluctant to load, chased the pace down the backstretch, pursued the runaway leader in the three then four path on the turn, turned into upper stretch under a drive, continued in pursuit of the leader into the final furlong, gained quickly into the final sixteenth and got up late to narrowly prevail. ROOFER bumped with a rival at the start then was hustled, moved up to get the lead outside the half-mile pole, went clear leaving the backstretch, drew away in the two path on the turn, came under the crop in upper stretch, remained well clear passing the eighth-pole, shortened stride in the final furlong and was caught late while clear for the place. MOTEL PATEL broke fast then was hustled, led early then lost the advantage to the runner-up late on the backstretch, dropped back into the turn, moved from the rail to the three path going around that bend, turned into upper stretch under a drive, kept on in pursuit of the top two in the stretch and lacked the needed kick while able to safely secure the show. TOGA DAN climbed significantly while urged along on the backstretch, went around the turn in the four path and improved position to get the last spot in the superfecta. NO PROBLEM broke a half-step slow, angled in under urging early, raced in the two path on the turn, turned into upper stretch under a drive and lacked the needed response. ARCH'S ASSAULT was urged along on the outside, traveled around the turn in the five then six path and failed to respond. EIGHTY GOLD was bumped on both sides at the start and off a step slow then taken up, was urged along while racing with his head held high, saved ground on the turn and failed to threaten. DISCO DERVISH was fractious behind the gate and reluctant to load, dropped back while urged along, rounded the turn in the two path, turned into the stretch in the four path and showed little. NOTHINGBUTNITRO was fractious in the gate, bumped with a rival while off slow, spotted the front a few lengths, went around the turn in the three path, spun into the stretch in the five path and never reached contention. KINGS AND QUEENS chased the pace on the outside, dropped back in the four to five path on the turn and retreated. BLUE PILL broke a bit slow then was taken up, spotted the front a few lengths, went around the turn in the five path and was no factor. STORMY BIRTHDAY broke a half-step slow while bobbling at the start, was urged along off the pace, dropped back in the three path on the turn and faltered.
