Footnotes
COSTA TERRA broke a bit slow then fell well off the pace early, dropped from the three path to the rail on the first turn, was coaxed along while well back on the backstretch, rallied while moving from the inside to the three path on the far turn, closed fast to make a bid at the quarter-pole, drifted in under a left-handed crop while dueling with the runner-up outside the eighth-pole, fought gamely with that foe in the final furlong and narrowly prevailed under strong urging. MOORE'S LAW broke a half-step slow, dropped well off the pace early, rounded the opening bend in the two path, was urged along near the back, rallied while moving from the two path to the four path on the far turn, closed strongly to make a bid at the quarter-pole, dueled outside of the winner into the final sixteenth, drifted in under a right-handed crop late and just missed while clear for the place. SUMMER CAUSE disputed the pace on the inside of two foes while along the rail, was asked outside the five-sixteenths pole, dropped back under a drive in upper stretch, kept on while unable to go with the top two in the final furlong and safely secured the show. ARMY TIMES bumped soundly with a rival at the start, contested the pace on the outside in the three path, was asked late on the far turn, dropped back while shortening stride in upper stretch and tired. BARESE bobbled at the start then bumped soundly with an opponent, vied in the two path while between foes, dropped back under urging on the far turn, moved to the three then four path late on that bend and capitulated.
