JUST BEAT THE ODDS a bit fractious in the gate prior to the start, got coaxed at the break and took over command shortly after, showed the way four then three wide before tucking to the two path at the nine-sixteenths, got engaged in head to head combat from ACOUSTIC AVE to the outside half a mile from home and knocked heads through the turn, spun just off the inside into upper stretch, dug in under a drive repelling that rival then edged away to the finish kept to task. ACOUSTIC AVE coaxed from the gate, raced three wide placing both FULL MOON MADNESS and EL GRANDE O in tight five and a half furlongs from home, then got steadied briefly as JUST BEAT THE ODDS tucked in front five furlongs out before advancing to duel with that rival from the half mile pole, continued three wide through the turn and came under urging near the quarter pole, swung three to four wide into upper stretch, dug in latched on to the outside to the eighth pole, then got rebuffed by the top one and ran on to secure the place honors. ST. JUDE chased five then four wide down the backstretch, tucked three wide through the turn and came under urging at the five-sixteenths, angled five wide into upper stretch, kept on to the finish. EL GRANDE O bobbled at the break and came under brief coaxing, chased along the inside getting taken in hand when bumped in tight along the rail due to pressure from ACOUSTIC AVE five and a half furlongs out, continued along the inside through the turn and into upper stretch and weakened in the drive. FULL MOON MADNESS coaxed from the start, chased just off the inside and was bumped in tight between foes with five and a half furlongs to run, then got steadied off the heels of JUST BEAT THE ODDS when that rival tucked in front at the nine-sixteenths, chased just off the inside through the turn and then three wide at the quarter pole and weakened in the stretch.
