Footnotes
VICTORY WAY three wide in pursuit, came under encouragement at the three-eighths marker, spun three wide into upper stretch, took over command straightened away and edged clear under a drive to prevail. VETTRIANO coaxed from the gate, showed the way in hand four paths off the inside down the backstretch before tucking to the two path through the turn, came under coaxing near the quarter pole and cornered just off the inside into upper stretch, yielded the front straightened away, ran on well clear of the rest to be along second best. LOCKE AND KEY got bumped at the start by TOXIC GRAY, who broke outwards, chased three then two wide under a ride from three furlongs out, spun just off the inside into upper stretch and offered up a mild kick. TOXIC GRAY broke out at the start bumping LOCKE AND KEY, chased just off the inside and then along the inside under urging from the three-eighths pole, took the inside route into upper stretch, angled out at the three-sixteenths and weakened. THE GOLDEN GORILLA bobbled at the break, recovered to chase four to five paths off the inside down the backstretch, suffered an injury to the left front leg near the half mile pole and was placed to a protective hold, got guided to the outside and was eased up before being expertly pulled up at the three-eighths pole, got attended to and vetted and was subsequently transported off the course via the equine ambulance.
