LIBERTY RISING broke in at the start and was corrected before making contact with SAMMY C NOTE, chased three then two wide coming under a ride at the three-eighths marker, angled four to five wide into upper stretch, dug in under a drive getting on track to issue a challenge inside the final sixteenth and was up in the last jumps to the finish to prevail. TOMSCHICKENFINGERS coaxed from the gate, prompted the leader from the outside five paths off the rail down the backstretch and then three wide through the turn coming under coaxing at the three-eighths marker, advanced taking narrow command swinging four wide into upper stretch, dug in under a drive under threat to the outside and was caught in the final strides to the wire. ALZERO got bumped at the start by SAMMY C NOTE, who broke inwards, chased just off the inside and then along the inside coming under urging three furlongs from home, swung four wide into upper stretch, tipped out three paths at the three-sixteenths, shied out an additional path from a left handed crop just inside the eighth pole, then offered up late foot to close in and latch on the top pair as they hit the finish. SPEIGHTFUL STORM bobbled at the break, came under coaxing and showed the way in hand just off the inside and then along the inside under some pressure from TOMSCHICKENFINGERS to the outside, yielded the front to that rival near the quarter pole and went three wide into upper stretch, kept on under a drive to the end. PRETRIAL STATEMENT chased five to six paths off the inside down the backstretch and then four wide through the turn urged along from three furlongs out, angled six to seven wide into upper stretch and tired. SAMMY C NOTE a bit fractious in the gate prior to the start, broke in at the break and bumped ALZERO, chased two to three wide down the backstretch before heading three to four wide through the turn ridden along from the seven-sixteenths marker, went seven wide into upper stretch and trailed.
