CASTLE ISLAND was hustled from the gate, raced inside for most of the first turn then moved to the two path, followed the solo leader from second, moved closer with five furlongs to run, gained to take the lead inside the nine-sixteenths pole, vied in the two path on the far turn, moved clear outside the five-sixteenths pole, was asked nearing the quarter-pole, came under a right-handed crop outside the furlong marker, drew away under the crop until outside the sixteenth-pole then was placed under a hand-ride while flagged with the crop to the finish while much the best. PEEK broke in and brushed with a rival, moved out nearing the first turn, dropped from the four path to the three path early on the first turn,settled on the outside, was urged along passing the five-eighths pole, dropped further behind the leader late on the backstretch, rounded the far turn in the three path and finished with good courage to just get the place. SUNDAESWITHSANDY brushed with a foe at the start, raced in the two then three path on the first turn, was rated on the outside, moved closer with five furlongs to run, was asked leaving the backstretch, chased in the three path on the far turn, pursued the winner under a drive in the stretch and proved no match then just lost the place while clear for the show. CELESTIAL MOON went around the first turn in the two path, settled near the back, was urged along passing the five-eighths pole, gained closer near the nine-sixteenths pole, moved from the two path to the three path on the far turn, was put to the crop outside the five-sixteenths pole, came out into about the six to seven path into upper stretch and lacked the needed response. THE KING CHEEK was hustled to the front, dropped from the three path to the rail on the first turn, showed the way with a clear advantage, came under urging near the nine-sixteenths pole, lost the lead outside the half-mile pole, vied inside on the far turn, dropped back outside the five-sixteenths pole and tired. LIFE AND LIGHT broke a bit awkwardly but with the field, moved in at the rear, raced inside on the first turn, settled at the rear, saved ground on the far turn, spun into the stretch in the two path and showed little.
