PRINCE OF JOY was hustled from the gate, tracked the pace on the outside, made a bid at the seven-sixteenths pole, vied in the five then four path on the turn, took the lead under a drive in upper stretch, responded well to the challenge of the runner-up in the final furlong and held under strong urging. HONORARY DEGREE hit the outside of the gate and was off a step slow, raced off the pace while urged along, went around the turn in the four then five path, rallied outside to make a bid at the eighth-pole, battled outside the winner in the final furlong and was turned away while clear for the place. HOT ROD RUMBLE was hustled from the gate, pressed the pace on the outside, vied in the four then three path while between foes on the turn, moved in to the two path while dropping into upper stretch, reached the rail around the three-sixteenths pole and lacked the needed kick while clear for the show. ALLURE OF MONEY broke a bit awkwardly, was urged along towards the rear, went around the turn in the three then four path and lacked the needed response. RETURN THE RING went to the front then set the pace under pressure to his outside, vied in the three path for most of the turn then dropped to the two path, lost the advantage in upper stretch and tired. BRONX BOMBER bobbled at the start, was urged along off the pace, saved ground on the turn and came up empty. LEDDY broke a step slow, dropped well behind the rest of the field under urging, moved from the three path to the two path early on the turn and was no factor.
