Footnotes
RANGER BATTALION veered out at the start, showed speed on the outside of foes, moved in late on the backstretch, vied in the two path while on the turn, was asked under threat inside the five-sixteenths pole, battled inside of the runner-up under a strong hand-ride in upper stretch, came under the crop outside the furlong marker and proved best under steady urging. LEAN MUSIC MACHINE came outward at the start but was quickly corrected with the left-rein, showed speed on the inside of foes then dropped just off the pace with five furlongs to run, chased the leading duo from that juncture, shifted from the two path to the three path on the turn, made a bid outside the five-sixteenths pole, battled outside of the winner under a drive into the final furlong and was outfinished while clear for the place. AERATE broke out then was hustled, showed speed then disputed the pace, was asked while along the rail early on the turn, dropped back with three furlongs to run, chased into upper stretch and weakened while far clear for the show. NATURAL HUNK was off slow and spotted the front several lengths, moved closer under urging near the five-eighths pole, shifted from the rail to the four path on the turn, was driven into the stretch in the five path then moved a bit further out and had nothing left. MIDNIGHT MUSUME broke very slow and spotted the front several lengths, was urged along at the rear, dropped from the two path to the rail very early on the turn, saved ground going around that bend, came out into upper stretch and trailed under urging to the finish.
