Footnotes
SHERLOCK'S JEWEL went around the first turn in the two path, settled in the middle of the field, rounded the far turn in the two path, was roused near the five-sixteenths pole, rallied outside while remaining on his inside lead in the stretch and closed well to get up late and prevail. DONEGAL MOMENTUM showed speed on the inside of a foe then was eased back before the first turn, raced in the two path on that bend, stalked the leader on the outside, moved up to turn up the pressure with five furlongs to run then reached even terms, traveled around the far turn in the two path, was given his cue inside the five-sixteenths pole, took a short lead into upper stretch, led under a drive into the final sixteenth but was caught while clear for the place. SON OF A BIRCH was taken under a tight hold leaving the gate then tucked in behind horses, raced in the two then three path on the first turn, was reserved on the outside at the back, went around the far turn in the three path, was asked outside the quarter-pole then came four into the stretch in the four path, raced outside under a drive into the final furlong, brushed with a foe outside the sixteenth-pole, drifted in some late then brushed again with that rival and improved to just get the show. BIG EVEREST (GB) made light contact with an opponent at the start, showed speed outside of a rival while going to the front, dropped to the inside nearing the first turn, showed the way in hand, was joined on the outside with five furlongs to run, vied inside on the far turn, was asked near the quarter-pole, lost the advantage into upper stretch, dropped back into the final furlong and weakened. HUSH OF A STORM bumped lightly with a foe at the start, settled on the inside, raced in hand while off heels early on the far turn, was roused while saving ground on that bend, turned into upper stretch under a drive then moved out, remained on his inside lead until just inside the furlong marker then swapped to the proper lead, brushed with a rival outside the sixteenth-pole, brushed with that foe again late and just missed the show.
